For over 50 years, Cooper City Optimist Club has been more than a sports organization. It has been a community built by volunteers, dedicated to giving children and families access to affordable youth sports.

While youth sports have become increasingly expensive and commercialized, Cooper City Optimist Club has continued to put CHILDREN BEFORE PROFITS — keeping registration fees affordable and creating opportunities for generations of young athletes.

Now, that legacy is at risk.

The City of Cooper City is considering terminating its agreement with Cooper City Optimist Club, putting the future of this long-standing volunteer-driven, nonprofit sports organization in question.

We cannot remain silent when 50 years of community service, dedication, and affordable youth sports are at stake.

This is about more than soccer. It is about protecting opportunities for our children, respecting the volunteers who have dedicated countless hours to our community, and preserving a legacy that belongs to generations of Cooper City families.

Our children deserve opportunities, not barriers. Our community deserves answers, transparency, and fairness.

We respectfully urge our city leaders to listen to the families, recognize the value of this organization, and work toward a solution that protects affordable youth sports.
