About Cooper City Cobras Travel Soccer Club

Cooper  City Cobras Soccer provides competitive soccer programs for the youth  of Cooper City and surrounding areas. This soccer program operates as  part of the Cooper City Optimist, (CCO), which is a “not for profit”  organization and a distinguished member of  Optimist International.  Founded in 1982, our club has grown considerably through the efforts of  hard-working volunteer parents who coach, assist with fundraising, and  tackle the administrative and operational duties within the club.  We  want the players to play, the parents to cheer, and the club to  grow while making the game of soccer a wonderful experience for  everyone.

The Cobras Travel soccer program is an approved  Florida Youth Soccer Association, FYSA, affiliate competing in Region A.  Our boys and girls travel teams participate in league play with the South Florida United Youth Soccer Association, SFUYSA.

The  cost to play travel soccer varies depending on the age group program  but assuming playing in 2 leagues (Fall & Winter) and 5 tournaments,  the total estimated membership cost is $1K with about half due in  mid-June when the players will be expected to register to play  travel. TRYOUTS occur in May and players will be expected to attend all  sessions.

MISSION STATEMENT

Cooper City Optimist Soccer is run by a committed group of volunteer  parents that share the same vision and goal. We are dedicated to the  development of the sport of soccer from four years old through high  school seniors.  We strive to teach and enhance the fundamentals of the  sport at the youth level so players may develop a life-long love of the  game.  We offer opportunities to participate and advance in the sport  for youth recreational and competitive players.

Our recreational  program (or "Rec") soccer is open to every child wanting to play soccer.  It is designed to provide a fun atmosphere, where players can both  learn the game and develop the skills necessary to play it well. With  our main emphasis is on having fun.  The philosophy of recreation is to  create a fun environment that players learn the basics of soccer, rules  and teamwork. Recreational soccer is a great opportunity for beginners  and experienced players who want limited competition and a more relaxed  atmosphere with emphasis on having fun.

Our Competitive program  (or "Travel") Soccer is open to every child selected at tryouts to play  Soccer competitively. It is designed to provide a fun atmosphere, where  players can both learn the game and develop the skills necessary to play  it well. With our main emphasis is on having fun.  The creates a fun  environment that players learn the advanced techniques of Soccer, rules  and teamwork. Travel Soccer is a great opportunity for experienced  players who want competition with an emphasis on having fun.

FROM COBRAS TO COLLEGE SOCCER

For many young athletes, the journey begins at the local field. Through dedication, development, and a love for the game, several players from the Cooper City Cobras Travel Soccer Program have continued their soccer careers at the collegiate level. Our program is committed to developing players both on and off the field, preparing them for the next stage of competition. We proudly recognize the following Cobras alumni who have gone on to play college soccer.

COBRAS PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Our Club’s player development  philosophies and methods do NOT align with those SuperClubs where MONEY  rules and corrupts!  Here, at Cooper City, a volunteer-based  organization, we develop the kids the “right way” and it is why we are  today among South Florida’s Top Youth Academy Clubs in the younger U8 to  U11 age groups.   We believe our Program offers the highest youth  soccer training value package in South Florida today when you look at  what you pay and what you get!
